Step out of Winter by Spring cleaning your home!

Atlas, the long awaited day has come! Winter is over which means that it is time to begin spring cleaning. Here in the CacheValley, our homes can take quite a beating from the harsh winter months. Since we are getting ready to spring clean our own homes, we figured that we could help you get ready to clean yours by giving you a spring clean checklist.

House-wide Cleaning

- Clean air vents (We put this first because this often tends to get your home quite dusty).

- Wipe down all walls and ceilings.

- Vacuum and polish furniture.

- Wipe down baseboards.

- Clean both the inside and outside of your windows.

- Clean your blinds.

- Replace furnace filters.

Kitchen

- Defrost and clean the freezer and fridge.

- Oil or polish your wooden cabinets.

- Clean the oven (including under the oven... yuck!).

- Clean the drain in your kitchen sink (Vinegar and baking soda work well for this).

Bathrooms

- Get rid of old beauty products and cleaners.

- Clean or re-grout the tile.

- Get the rings out of the tub, sink and toilet.

Bed Rooms

- Vacuum your mattress and flip it to the other side.

- Wash your pillows if they are washable or buy new ones (make sure they dry completely before putting them back in the pillow cover to prevent mildew).

- Clean out your closet by storing winter clothing (In Logan it is a good idea to keep a few winter clothing articles in your closet at all times!).

- Replace smoke detector batteries.

Laundry Room

- Clean out washing machine.

- Vacuum dryer lint trap and clean exhaust vents.

Outdoors

- Retrieve the barbeque and patio furniture from storage and clean them.

- Wash the salt off of your driveway and sidewalks to prevent further deterioration.

- Get rid of cob webs and wasp nests.

- Spray off your home's siding.

- Replace burnt out light bulbs and clean the glass on your light fixtures.

Hopefully this will be a good start for you to begin cleaning your home. The Cache Valley is a great place to live during the spring and summer months so make sure to get the unpleasant experience of deep cleaning your home out of the way sooner than later.
